Cookies, fonts and your preferences

This Cookie Policy explains how astrareels.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them in your browser.

Effective date: March 2026 · Related document: Privacy Policy

AstraReels respects your privacy. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”). Cookies can involve personal information (for example, if they distinguish your browser from others); where they do, the Privacy Policy applies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files (or equivalent browser storage, such as local storage) that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit. They are widely used to make sites work more efficiently, remember settings, understand how visitors use a site, and — on some commercial sites — to deliver advertising.

AstraReels is an educational analytics publisher. We do not use cookies to operate gambling products or to sell wagering on your behalf.

Types of cookies we use

Essential cookies and storage

Some functions of the Site rely on cookies or similar technologies to operate — for example, remembering that you have dismissed a notice, maintaining security tokens during a session, or storing lightweight preferences that improve accessibility. These are typically first-party (set by astrareels.com or our hosting infrastructure).

Without essential cookies, parts of the Site may not work as intended.

Analytics cookies

We may use analytics tools to collect aggregated information about traffic: popular pages, approximate geographic regions, device types, referral sources and technical errors. Analytics helps us improve readability, fix broken links and prioritise topics.

Where analytics cookies are used, we aim to configure them to minimise identifiability (for example, IP truncation where the tool supports it) and to avoid building individual profiles for unrelated marketing. Specific tool names and retention periods may change as we update our stack; this policy describes categories rather than a fixed vendor list.

Preference cookies

If we offer optional features such as theme choice, reduced motion, or font size presets, we may store your selection in a cookie or in local storage so the Site remembers it on your next visit. Preference cookies are not used to infer sensitive attributes about you.

How to manage cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. You can usually find these controls under “Settings”, “Privacy”, or “Security”. Options may include:

  • blocking all third-party cookies;
  • blocking all cookies (may break some sites);
  • deleting cookies when you close the browser;
  • viewing a per-site list and removing individual cookies.

Because browser interfaces differ, refer to your browser’s help documentation (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). On mobile devices, similar settings exist within system preferences or the browser app.

If you block essential cookies, parts of AstraReels may not load correctly. If you block analytics cookies, we still receive basic server logs (see below).

Server logs

Even without cookies, our servers and content delivery infrastructure may automatically log requests, including IP address, User-Agent, requested URL, HTTP status and timestamp. Logs support security, abuse detection and capacity planning. They are retained for a limited period consistent with our Privacy Policy.

Third-party cookies and Google Fonts

The only third-party content we routinely load for presentation is Google Fonts (stylesheets and font files from Google’s servers). When your browser requests those assets, Google may process technical data such as IP address and User-Agent in line with Google’s own policies.

We do not set Google advertising cookies through the Site’s core templates. If we embed third-party media or tools in the future, we will update this policy to name them and describe their purpose.

If you wish to avoid Google Fonts requests entirely, you can use browser extensions that block remote fonts, or use reader modes — understanding that typography may fall back to system fonts.

Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” or similar signals. There is no uniform legal standard in Australia requiring a specific technical response to every signal. We treat privacy seriously and minimise tracking by design; we will align our practices with emerging Australian and international guidance as it stabilises.

Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may amend this Cookie Policy when we change our technology stack, add new tools, or respond to regulatory guidance. The effective date at the top will be updated. Please review this page periodically.
